The Google Remote Desktop app requires that you be logged into a gmail account. If you already use Google Chrome internet browser and are logged into your gmail account, this will be easy.
1. Click the link above “Google Chrome Remote Desktop” to bring you to https://remotedesktop.google.com/support/
2. The menu on the left should be on Remote Support. There are two choices in the middle of the screen: Share this Screen and Connect to another computer. You want to share your screen. Select the button "+ Generate Code".
3. If you have the code, give it to your help desk technician by texting or speaking. If you don't have the code, you may need to install some things. Select the download button to install the web version of the app.
4. Select the option to add the Chrome Extension. Allow the browser to run ChromeRemoteDesktopHost.msi if it asks to do that.
5. The extension will add an icon in the upper right of the address bar called “Chrome Remote Desktop.” Select this icon whenever you want to start a remote desktop connection.
6. In the Share this Screen box, select "+ Generate Code" to obtain a code to provide to your help desk technician. The code will expire in 5 minutes. Text the code to him or tell him the code over the phone.
