Cash
Advance Pro 5 Software Revision History
The following history reflects changes in Cash Advance Pro since
version 5.0. Only significant changes worth noting are mentioned.
All software updates generally include fixes for minor glitches
which are not recorded here. Therefore, it is a good idea to keep
your systems updated. The previous version requirements are noted
below.
Note that sometimes the release date changes but not the version
number when only a few minor fixes are done. A version number change
indicates either an important fix, such as something involving
security, or it indicates that so many changes have been done that
a large number of users would probably be interested in the update.
Software
Revision History:
Cash Advance Pro 5.24 --- 10-7-11
This update is for version 5.2 or newer. This update should be
done after End of Day processing before any transactions are posted
or there may be a problem reversing transactions done prior to
the update.
1. Modified APR Calculator to handle loans with long terms better
(loans with terms longer than 60 months).
2. Fixed problem where in some cases after charging off a loan
the transaction could not be reversed because the store number
of the last transaction was not being recorded on the customer
record.
3. Changed how Paydown transactions update Veritec database by
not attempting to close the loan unless its status previously was
active.
4. Fixed a problem on the Operating Summary where refinanced loans
were being included in the Daily Deposit Cash Flow. Now the amount
of principal and finance fees from refinanced loans are deducted
from repaid principal and finance fees in this section of the report
because these amounts never hit the drawer.
5. Fixed a problem where the paid-to-date for certain loan types
was not being advanced properly resulting in problems with setting
the next due date for certain clients.
6. Fixed a problem with the number of anticipated payments to collect
on the paydown screen for installment loans was being too aggressive.
Now expected payments will only accrue when the full payperiod
is delinquent. For example, monthly accounts will expect a single
payment during the first two months. Starting with the third month,
two payments will be expected.
7. Modified Late Fee calculations to work with custom pay periods.
Now, a late fee may be setup to be assessed per payment missed
even if the pay period is a custom pay period.
8. Fixed the way refunds on refinanced loans are recorded in the
transaction register. Instead of coming off the principal, the
loan fees are reduced by the refund amount instead and the principal
repaid on the refinanced loan is shown in full. This was a problem
on the Transaction Summary on the second page of the Operating
Summary for satisfied and refinanced principal and finance fees.
9. Added new checks when refinancing title loans with lien fees.
10. Added additional details to the transaction detail screen for
refinanced loan transactions.
11. Added ability to specify a late fee minimum per payment missed.
12. Modified Loan Transaction History Report under Forms and Letters
to show both the Non-Cash Credit total and the Non-Cash Credit
Applied to Interest amounts.
13. Fixed Payment History Report under Forms and Letters to show
Non-Cash Credit Amounts.
14. Added a block to loans with the Modified Interest Method to
make sure that no more than the contractual amount of interest
is computed on balances.
15. Fixed a problem where an invalid IntMethod in the Default Settings
file was setting loans to an invalid interest method.
16. Added ability to specify different late fees based upon the
Security Item or Program selected.
17. Changed the way Held Check Amts are calculated for installment
loans. Now the held check amount will equal the loan amount plus
2 times the first months interest amount.
18. Added ability to limit the Title and Installment Loan calculation
method to only the default calculation method. See Profile Setting
#169.
19. Added ability to specify a maximum APR for interest only. See
Profile ID # 171.
20. Added a new calculation method called From APR Using CSO Model
for calculating a loan fee and interest based upon an APR entry.
This new feature can be useful for some companies in Texas using
the CSO model.
21. Added to the display on the New Loans / More Options screen
to show the APR for only the interest portion of the finance fees.
22. Fixed a problem with changing the LoanNo when entering a new
loan. In some cases, an error message would appear when the software
would try to search the loans table to make sure that the new loan
number did not already exist.
23. Fixed an issue where in some cases the Adjust Fees screen did
not show the current loan fee charges correctly.
24. Changed default backup folder to include the name of the database.
This is helpful to customers who run separate databases on one
computer.
25. Added new option to Create ACH file in Profile Settings to
allow recreating the ACH file even when End of Day has been reversed.
26. Changed the way the ACH file name is constructed so that the
store number becomes part of the file name. This allows companies
that share the same database between stores to have separate ACH
files for each store. The file name also has been expanded to include
the year.
27. Fixed a problem with refinancing precomputed or zero interest
loans that calculate a refund due. The amount of the refund now
automatically will create a non-cash credit entry on the loan being
satisfied so that a balance will not remain on the satisfied loan.
28. Added ability to disable the editing of the lien fee when creating
a new loan. See Profile ID # 175.
29. Fixed a problem with bad check entries for renewed loans whereby
the bad check was being tied to the loan number of the renewed
loan rather than the loan which was satisfied by the renewed loan
transaction.
30. Added another field to the bad check screen called Other Amt
so that a bad check can now be split into four categories instead
of three. The amount of the check can be split up as going toward
principal, finance fees, bad check fees and other amount (such
as late fees).
31. Changed the order of applying a payment when using the Satisfy
Loan transaction on Payday Loans. Now, unless the transaction is
on a simple interest loan and is taking a non-Cash Credit combined
with a payment type of Cash, the order of applying payments will
take late fees after finance fees. This allows a late fee to be
added at the time of depositing a check and still have that late
fee on the loan to collect later. In the former situation, it is
more desirable to take the interest payment last so that any non-cash
credits will be off of the interest amount rather than the late
fee.
32. Added a block so users could not enter a customer number of
zero on a new customer entry.
33. Added ability to set a security level for editing the customer
number on a new customer entry. See Profile ID # 176.
34. Fixed a problem whereby in certain situations, when editing
a new customer record, the record could be saved when the user
perhaps meant to abort their entry. For some users, this caused
a lot of empty or blank customer records in their system. Rather
than automatically saving the entry, the software will now ask
the user if it is ok to abort the changes made.
35. Added Total Pmt field to the Misapplied Payment transaction.
36. Modified the Loan Payment History report to include misapplied
payment transactions and to better handle subtotals for both misapplied
payments and bad check transactions within the report.
37. Fixed a problem with Satisfy Loan where in some cases it would
automatically waive the late fee even though the user did not indicate
to do so.
38. Updated the Help File.
Cash Advance Pro 5.23 --- 7-7-11
This update is for version 5.2 or newer. This update should be
done after End of Day processing before any transactions are posted
or there may be a problem reversing transactions done prior to
the update.
1. Added feature to set the default loan length of payday loans
based upon the current number of days in the month. See help
topic concerning Profile ID #93, Default Pay Period.
2. Added an additional error trapping feature for unexpected
program errors to report the information and record it to an
exception log for our technicians.
3. Added feature to allow Installment Loans to target an interest
amount. Now there are five target options for calculating a loan
amortization schedule. Users can enter either of the following
five values as a target: 1) APR (Annual Percentage Rate) estimate,
2) Periodic Payment Amount, 3) Interest Amount, 4) DIR (Daily
Interest Rate), 5) AIR (Annual Interest Rate which does not include
loan fee). To accommodate easy access to all these methods, the
more options screen has been rearranged and organized in a little
different way.
4. Added ability to do a zero interest loan and thereby support
calculating a precomputed installment loan based upon only the
loan fee.
5. Added a Loan Amount Settings Table that can be used to setup
loan parameters for installment loans based upon the loan amount
of the loan. This item is accessed from the Default Settings
table under menu selection Transactions / New Loan / More Options
/ Default Settings / Loan Amount Settings Table.
6. Added ability to specify a new default calculation method,
Profile ID# 169.
7. Added ability to support Tennessee Installment Loans using
the alternative precomputed method. This method requires setting
new Profile Setting ID# 170, Refund Method.
8. Added ability to calculate the refund amount on precomputed
loans according to the Rule of 78's. See Profile Setting ID#
170.
9. Fixed issue with transaction reports not showing reason code
descriptions in some situations for multi-store databases.
10. Fixed some issues in Satisfy Loan where improper entries
would not clear and form could not close.
11. Added ability to specify a MaxAPR setting. See Profile Setting
ID #171.
12. Added ability to specify a minimum age of a loan being refinanced.
13. Added ability to allow IntMethod to be specified in the default
settings on new loans. Primarily this accommodates establishing
a modified interest method (M) on installment loans so that interest
does not extend beyond the term of the loan.
14. Enlarged loan detail form and rearranged statistics to be
easier to read. Also added additional statistics to the screen,
such as Nr Pmts Made, Nr Pmts Left, and Nr Pmts Due. Added further
description of dates to designate them relative to the current
system date, specifying the description as "x days ago" or "in
x days."
15. Added ability to add or subtract a regular payment on the
paydown loan screen. Next to the payment field is a + and - which
may be clicked on to either add or subtract a regular payment
from the amount already in the field.
16. If a late fee is calculated automatically, it will be added
now onto the expected default payment automatically when a loan
is selected in the paydown loan area.
17. Added a docs button to the Forms and Letters form that provides
quick access to pdf, word, excel or other documents.
18. Added a select folder button to the Backup Database option.
19. Added a new loan fee calculation method to support the state
of Wyoming. It charges a fee based upon fractionalizing a monthly
percentage rate.
20. Added links to help menu for website and help desk technical
support connection.
21. Fixed a problem where bad check payments were not printing
the receipt on bad checks that did not have a loan number assigned.
22. Fixed a problem with a New Loan Transaction putting customer
name from a previous loan on the transaction note.
23. Added two new methods to Profile ID #127, which sets the
default next due date when doing a paydown transaction on a loan.
Now the default next due date can be based upon the posting date,
either to be shifted ahead of the current posting date by one
pay period, or by specifying the number of days in the profile
by which to move the next due date forward.
24. Fixed an issue where the New Loan screen was not showing
charged-off bad check balances for the customer selected.
25. Added a new transaction to the transaction menu called, Modify
Payment Plan. This allows modifying a loan for a new payment
plan to pay off the balance. The loan is converted to a precomputed
type of loan for the purposes of paying off the balance.
26. Fixed a problem where changing the date of the system altered
the displayed time of the system.
27. Added two new payment types for Payroll Deduction and Wage
Assignment.
28. Added the ability to specify a default payment type for a
customer so that payment transactions will default to the default
payment type specified for that customer.
29. Added a new default next due method to the Paydown Transaction.
Payments can now default based upon advancing one period beyond
the original next due date.
30. Changed the way principal is paid on loans that are contractual
or placed in a closed status. Now, principal will be paid before
other fees on loans that are in an inactive status (any status
other than New, Renewed, Paydown, or Hold) or that have had their
interest calculations stopped (interest method C). Because non-cash
credits reduce the entire balance of a loan, this causes loans
with non-cash credits to report less revenue upon subseqent payments,
making accounting a little easier in not having to back out uncollected
principal from revenue figures.
31. Added a new loan report, Active Loans by Due Date.
32. Added ability to block users from being able to change the
check cashing currency type.
33. Fixed a rounding precision issue that caused some installment
loans to print an Amortization Schedule slightly different from
what was constructed when the loan was created.
34. Fixed a problem where in some cases, when late fees were
being charged per payperiod, they were being understated by one
pay period.
35. Added a security level setting for accessing the reports
menu from the main menu bar. See Profile ID #174.
36. Updated the help file.
Cash
Advance Pro 5.22 --- 3-22-11
This update is for version 5.2 or newer.
1. Added ability to calculate APR from the entry of the regular
payment desired for Installment Loans.
2. Fixed a problem - when creating a new customer at the new loan
screen, the customer alerts was not being reset for the new customer
just added if the user did not click on the new customer after
entry. This resulted in possible false messages being reported,
such as customer exceeding credit limit, if the posting button
was pressed before selecting the new customer just entered.
3. In More Options for a New Loan, stopped blocking loan completion
when the First Payment Date is greater than 45 days from the start
date if the loan being created is a single payment loan.
4. Fixed a problem for those in Nebraska using new feature introduced
in version 5.21 that attaches previously satisfied loan information
to a new loan. In some circumstances, the most recent satisfied
loan was not the one being attached.
5. Changed the way partially paid late fees are added to balance
after posting a loan. Now the remaining late fee is added into
the balance after the loan is posted. If the next due date is not
moved ahead, a warning is given to indicate that additional automatic
late fees may be added immediately after posting the loan.
6. Added new Profile Setting #154 which simplifies the display
by hiding the Posting Date and Time on Cash Advance Pro screens.
In most cases, the Posting Date and Time is the same as the Actual
System Date and Time.
7. Added new formula method to Loan Fee calculations to accommodate
states like Nebraska. See Profile Setting ID #70 for Method N.
8. Added ability to search for the new Held Check Number in previous
loans to warn user if entering the same held check number. See
Profile Setting ID #155.
9. Added ability to set a default minimum and maximum check cashing
fee. See Profile Setting ID #156 & #157.
10. Added ability to warn user if a new loan is being created for
a customer whose previous loan was satisfied by deposit less than
a specified number of days earlier. See Profile Setting ID #158
(Days To Wait For Check To Clear).
11. Added previous loan information to the New Loan screen for
those in Nebraska where loans satisfied on the same day are attached
to the new loan being created.
12. Added ability print Bad Check Statements after entering a bad
check. See Profile Setting ID #159 to control this behavior.
13. Added ability to enter interest on payday loans from a drop
down list box as a flat interest percent of the loan amount regardless
of term.
14. Added ability to interface with Veritec database used in some
states.
15. Added a document manager to the Statistics Screen of Edit Customer.
This allows saving an unlimited number of documents to the database
and tying them to the customer.
16. Fixed a problem when loading documents to the transaction record
where closing the window and reopening it again without switching
tabs would result in a table not open error.
17. Added a default payment type for paydowns. See Profile Setting
ID #160.
18. Added ability to add Employer information in a separate table
and allow selecting information from it for customer records.
19. Added ability to add Employer fields to loan reports.
20. Fixed a problem when showing the transaction detail screen
for certain databases with mixed store numbers in the customer
table whereby it was not showing the correct customer name.
21. Added ability to remember the customer selected in Forms and
Letters when moving to other screens in the program.
22. Added a Loan Report: Loans Outstanding by Employer.
23. Added employee time log management system.
24. Added a transaction for a misapplied payment. This transaction
is primarily for an installment loan which may have had a payment
errantly posted to it but it was not discovered until after several
end of days were processed.
25. Fix for Veritec users. Some accounts would create a Veritec
error if an address field like the zip code had a trailing space.
CashAdvPro will now trim all these fields of spaces before sending
over to Veritec.
26. Fix for X-Charge Credit Card Processing Users. X-Charge changed
their accountID's, so now CashAdvPro uses a separate field with
an increased length to manage it. Users updating their X-Charge
software will need to update to the newer CashAdvPro version.
27. Added ability to have upper level management approve transactions
for printing signed checks or secure forms within forms and letters
area. See Profile ID #163 & #164.
28. Added ability to have end of day combine information from multiple
stores in database into one end of day summary. See profile ID
#165.
29. Added feature for New Title Loans to retrieve Title Information
from the last loan of the customer.
30. Fixed a problem where users could enter too high a number of
items in Bank Deposits, causing an error during End of Day Processing
that kept the system from being able to advance to the next day.
Also updated help file on this topic to help users understand bank
deposits better.
31. Added ability to add details to Work Events.
32. Added storeno field to Petty Cash and Misc Receipt management
screens so users can see which store added new reason codes.
33. Fixed problem where under certain conditions the wrong customer
name was showing when the transaction was double click under View
Transaction Log.
34. Added ability to edit Petty Cash Reason Codes directly from
the Petty Cash Transaction Screen.

the Misc. Receipt Transaction Screen.
36. Fixed issue for Missouri Late Fees where system was charging
5% of the check amount instead of 5% of the payment due.
37. Fixed issue where certain keystrokes in the More Options area
could lead to loans with incorrectly stated figures, such as APR,
fees, etc.
38. Added ability to set an oldest loan date for counting the number
and balances of closed loans (see Profile Setting ID # 166).
39. Added a backup and restore facility for backing up the database.
The backup process can be set to run automatically with each End
of Day (see Profile ID #166). Furthermore, at the end of year,
an automatic annual backup will be created that may be useful for
accountants in preparing previous year tax returns.
40. Added feature to set the fiscal year to be something other
than Jan 1 to Dec. 31. Set new fiscal year end in File / System
Options / System Date Change.
41. Added Date of Birth and Co-Date of Birth criteria to customer
report selections.

Cash
Advance Pro 5.2 --- 5-29-09
This
update package will convert version 5.1 or newer. Version 5.2 is
not backward compatible with earlier versions, so companies with
multiple stores using remote connections should plan their updates
accordingly. This update will replace the receipts and most of the
report files, so
if you
have customized any of them, please be sure to back them up. If
you are updating from a version prior to 5.1, your customized contracts
may require our assistance to make them work with this update.
1. Added a
new interest calculation method to the Interest Chart called
Incremental Method. This method allows calculation of interest
and loan fees based upon the percentage indicated by intervals
on the interest chart.
2. Fixed
a problem where right clicking in certain windows caused the same
menu to appear again after choosing a selection.
3. Made
an error message more clear concerning a problem when the nxServer
has its ServerInfo Plugin disabled.
4. Added
the ability to tie images and documents to a transaction record.
This is helpful for check cashers to store a scanned image of checks
cashed.
5. Added
feature to have the maximum percent rule, Profile Setting ID # 53,
block bad check fees entered on the Bad Check screen that would violate
the rule.
6. Added
ability to set a loan fee maximum value, Profile Setting ID #147.
7. Added
feature for installment loans that are very delinquent to default
payment to the number of payments due times the regular payment amount.
8. Add
ability to view all bad check balances owed, including charged-off
bad checks, on Loan Detail screen and on Customer Statistics screen.
9. Updated
the underlying database server to version 2.08.01, which increases
speed and efficiency and also fixes a number of problems reported
over the last year.
10. The
APR Calculator unit has been significantly changed for installment
loans which results in much closer APR estimates when compared with
the treasury department's APRWin software.
11. Added
loan fee to the Amortization Schedule report under Forms and Letters.
12. Changed
the way loan fees are assessed on installment loans. Now instead
of applying the entire loan fee on the first payment, it is spread
out over the entire loan.
13. Changed
the way interest is entered on installment loans. Now instead of
entering the simple annual interest rate, the estimated target APR
is entered.
14. Fixed
a problem in Change Loan Status transaction that under certain conditions
was not reducing the customer record field for outstanding loan amount.
This caused a problem when new loans were created and there were
credit limit restrictions or profile settings which might prohibit
additional loans.
15. Added
feature to set whether or not monthly payment dates will drift toward
the least day of the month or instead maintain the day of the month
indicated by the first payment date. The default setting is to let
the date drift, so that if the first payment date is on the 31st,
and the next payment month has only 30 days, subsequent payment dates
will stay on 30. Profile ID # 148 now can be changed to N so that
monthly date drifts are not allowed.
16. Added
security level for charge-offs and void transactions for both loans
and bad checks. See Profile ID # 149.
17. Fixed
a problem which generated an error message that would appear if the
Operating Summary Options report list was run and then the user came
back to run a single report.
18. Added
ability to change bank sort by fields under Edit / Banks.
19. Fixed
a problem on transaction reversals for those using a database with
data merged together from different stores. In certain circumstances,
an attempt to reverse a transaction might have given an error message
indicating that the customer information could not be reversed and
the reverasal process was aborted.
20. Changed
ACH upload file names to have the file name formatted with the date
as MMDD instead of YYMMDD and also suffixed with the first letter
of the database alias.
21. Added
ability to upload ACH files automatically using CoreFTP utility program.
22. Added
help menu item to make relaxing security for viewing help files across
the network easier.
23. For
control reasons, after End of Day processing, users now will be forced
to login again.
24. Added
ability to e-mail ACH confirmation e-mails automatically during End
of Day processing.
25. Fixed a problem where the first transaction number recorded
for the End of Day Summary was not being set properly when End
of Day processing had no transactions to process.
26. Fixed a problem with an error message given when refinancing
a loan.
27. Fixed a problem with an error message given when Security
Item Selection had been disabled in Profile Settings, or when Ask
Program Name had been enabled in Profile Settings.
28.
Added two new rows to second page of End of Day Operating Summary
to reflect ACH
Credits and Debits (Daily, MTD, & YTD).
29. Changed
the behavior of paydowns when bad checks are due. System will
now allow paying down a loan with a bad check. However, system
will warn the user that this is not normally done and ask for
confirmation that this is desired.
30. Changed the way rounding was done during paydown for certain
conditions where a partial credit exists on a loan. Previously
the way the AmtFwd field was being rounded led to slight negative
interests due immediately after posting a payment under certain
conditions where less than the daily interest amount was due and
a significant amount of the principal was being paid down.
31. Fixed
a mislabel on the transaction detail screen where a renewed loan
transaction was mislabeling late fees as lien fees.
32. Added additional
fields to the work log to show time started, time ended, total time,
and last change date.
33. Added ability to filter Work Events by LoanNo
on the View Loans screen.
34. Fixed alignment problems with the first
three reports under forms and letters which were misprinting under
certain situations.
35. Changed the way late fees paid and late fee
waivers accumulate on renewals. Prior to this update, the design
was to cumulate this
field on subsequent renewals so that the most recent loan contained
the total late fees paid and waived since the original loan was
done. However, this had a negative effect on reports that attempted
to cumulate values for the various loans. Therefore, this update
no longer maintains this cumulative aspect. Each loan now reflects
only late fees for it and not for prior loans.
36. Repositioned the
late fees paid and nr transaction statistics on the customer statistics
screen.
37. Updated the help file.
Cash Advance
Pro 5.12 --- 2-27-09
This update package will convert version 5.1 or newer. Version
5.12 is NOT backward compatible with previous versions of Cash

8. Added a control to charging-off loans with bad checks. Now the
system provides more checks to help the user charge-off bad checks
before charging off loans.
9. Changed receipts to show detail information only when the detail
fields are not zero.
10. Added Profile Setting ID # 143 under category Security which
allows blocking completely any renewal attempts beyond the Max
Renewal Setting.
11. Added Profile Setting ID # 144 under category Operations which
allows clearing the Bank Deposit Defaults to zero rather than the
smart method of estimating deposit needed to bring balance back
to day's beginning balance.
12. Added Credit Cards and ACH entries to Bank Deposit Transaction
Report.
13. Changed Renewal Transaction to allow entering a payment amount
instead of entering the amount to apply to principal.
14. Fixed a problem where under certain circumstances, waiving
a late fee on paydown and paying off the entire balance on a loan
did not result in satisfying the loan.
15. Updated the help file.
Cash Advance Pro 5.1 --- 12-4-08
This update package will convert version 5.00 or newer. Version
5.1 is NOT backward compatible with the data files from prior versions
of Cash Advance Pro. If you connect remotely to other stores or
use the Merge Utility, plan updates among all your stores with
these incompatibility issues in mind. Also, this update will replace
most of the report files, and your customized contracts may require
our assistance to make them work with this update. It would be
good to coordinate your update plans with us so we can assist immediately
with any unforeseen issues. This update is an important update
in regards to some of the fixes mentioned below. Also, a number
of new features have been added to the software with this version.
1. Fixed a problem in Paydown where a rounding issue caused interest
to sometimes report negative interest cents due immediately after
posting a payment. The issue only happened when all the interest
was paid down and some of the principal was paid. The issue also
sometimes caused the Paid-To-Date to be one day less than the current
system date with almost a full days AmtFwd credit when the date
should have advanced fully. The rounding error has now been corrected.
2. Fixed a problem when creating a new loan with the first payment
date being set ahead. The next due date was not being set to the
new first payment date in some situations.
3. Added a sample report template to Forms and Letters for printing
an envelope.
4. Added ability to highlight customer records using different
colors for foreground or background. This feature is accessed in
Edit Customers on the Profile Information tab. It may be used to
signify customers on different plans or options.
5. Updated some changes in the ODBC driver for those users accessing
the data using Microsoft Office products.
6. Added the ability to print the full employee name on receipts
and other reports. This is done through a new custom RAP function
called gEmployeeName, which can be used in a Calc Variable to show
the name.
7. Added ability
to email reports directly from Cash Advance Pro. An email button
appears on the report preview screen in the upper
left hand corner, next to the printer button. Selecting it brings
up an email dialog screen which allows entering an email message
to go with the report. Also, a list of reports can be emailed immediately
after End of Day processing without any user interaction using
the options button under Reports / Operating Summaries. In order
to use the new email feature, email settings must be setup in Store
Information (File / System Options / Store Information).
8. Added new setting to Block Multiple Loans option in the Profile
Settings. Now setting this to A will block doing another loan if
any balance is owed on any other loan.
9. Added feature to check for the number of sessions connected
to the server when a user is about to choose End of Day processing.
If other computers are connected to the server, the Process End
of Day button will be disabled and a message displayed to remind
the user to exit Cash Advance Pro on other computers before closing
End of Day. This option may be configured or disabled in the Profile
Settings using Profile ID # 139. In some situations with multiple
databases or remote connections, it may be necessary to increase
the EODMaxSessions parameter for this feature to be useful.
10. Added feature
to enable Cash Advance Pro to synchronize the time of the computer
with the computer hosting
the server. If enabled,
the time of the computer will be set to match the server computer
when Cash Advance Pro is first started. This is helpful in some
situations to keep the time stamped on transactions from different
workstations in step with each other. This feature is off by default
and may be enabled by changing the setting in Profile ID # 140
to 'S' for "Synchronize with Server."
11. Added feature to allow previewing the contract before capturing
the signature, then printing the contract with the captured signature.
12. Added Routing Number fields to the Bank Record so that when
a bank is selected for a customer, the routing number for that
bank will be transferred over to the routing number field of the
customer. Also, when adding a bank, the routing number can be formatted
from the branch number, institution number, and check digit. For
Canadian customers where routing numbers can be formatted two different
ways, this can be helpful to get the proper formatting for electronic
processing.
13. Added ability for loans with contractual type interest not
to charge interest if satisfied within 1 day. Previously this worked
only for simple daily interest loans. Set Profile Settings ID #
92 to 1 in order to use.
14. Added some new options to the default Non-Cash Credit Method,
Profile Setting ID # 117. Now automatic credits can be given to
the first loan for the entire interest due, and the percent discounts
also can be set to apply only to the customer's first loan.
15. Added feature to set the default date on Renewals to the next
due date rather than the current system date. See Profile Setting
ID #141.
16. Added feature to allow editing the Loan Fee as a percent rather
than currency. See Profile Setting ID #142.
17. Added Daily, Month-to-Date, and Year-to-Date figures for Lien
Fees to End of Day Transaction Summary.
18. Added new feature that allows restricting the Number of Payments
by a Minimum or Maximum based upon security item or loan program
selected.
19. Fixed a problem where the navigator bar on Bad Check Transactions
was disabled.
20. Added ability to void bad checks for situations where bad
checks were entered incorrectly.
21. Added a block for multiple loans if bad checks have been charged-off
and Profile ID #63 (Block Multiple Loans) is set to B. Previously
only active bad checks would block additional loans when this profile
setting was set to B.
22. Added customer fields for employer address, city, state/province,
postal code, and phone.
23. Added internet integration with a check verification service
(Check A Check).
24. Fixed an issue related to right clicking on selected text
not bringing up a menu for copying and pasting the selected text.
Earlier versions had this feature, but a bug crept into a compiler
update which removed this default feature. A work around has been
added to many of the forms to restore this feature.
25. Added ability to edit a loan's Next Due Date on the More Information
Screen under Loan Detail.
26. Updated the help file.
Cash Advance Pro 5.02 --- 9-11-08
This update
will update version 5.00 or newer. Version 5.02 is backward compatible
with
the data files in Versions 5.00 & 5.01.
1. Fixed a problem with a new feature added in version 5.0. The
problem would happen on systems that were keeping both payday loans
and title or installment loans in the same database. If a loan
was refinanced and the next loan entered was a payday loan that
never entered the more options area, the system was refinancing
the loan from the previous transaction again, causing an incorrect
contract and cash drawer update. If the problem is noticed, it
could be easily reversed. The problem has now been corrected in
5.02.
2. Changed the way non-cash credits were being handled in
paydown transactions. Previously the Interest Due field (IntDue)
on active
loans was being updated to include the total interest due at posting.
Now, if a non-cash credit is being applied toward interest, it
is not added into the IntDue field. Other areas of the software
that report total interest charges will add in the NCashCreditApplied
field to get the total interest charges.
3. An update utility program,
UpdAuto.exe, was updated to track version numbers in order to flag
one time only changes that are
needed in an update, such as decreasing the IntDue field by the
NCashCreditApplied field.
4. A change in 5.01 created an balance
issue on satisfied loans for some customers that were heavily using
the non-cash credit
option. This update includes a fix that should correct that problem.
5.
Added a security level for Adjust Drawer option on the Cash Drawer
screen. Set security level in Profile Settings, ID# 137.
6.
Added a security level for Check Cashing. Set security level in
Profile Settings, ID# 138.
7. Added new feature when refinancing
a loan. Now the title information will be copied over after selecting
the loan to refinance.
8. Added
ability for the Loan Fee edit box in the more options area to be
disabled.
9. Fixed a problem where single payment loans
were not having the end date set correctly if only the effective
date was changed
after the next due date was changed.
10. Updated help file.
Cash Advance Pro 5.01 --- 8-18-08
Version 5.01 primarily fixes issues and is backward compatible
with the data files and reports in Version 5.00.
1. Fixed problem with Customer Reports when using the exclusion
of Mail Code feature. If no Mail Code was entered at all on the
customer record, it was being excluded from the reports. Now records
without any mail code entered will be included.
2. Fixed a problem
with the balance calculation on certain closed loans. In certain
conditions, loans which were previously receiving
a non-cash adjustment while the loan was active were then receiving
another reduction for non-cash credits applied toward interest
when the loans were moved to a closed account status.
3. Fixed a
problem with the work event log when run from networked stations.
Also made the work event log more friendly in allowing
the closing of the View Loans window that started it.
4. Fixed a
problem where the transaction detail screen was showing the reverse
condition of a bad check transaction for the field
that indicated whether the bad check was returned from bank.
5.
Changed the Bad Check Letter form in Forms and Letters to read, "Returned
Check Letter."
6. Fixed a problem where the Bank Account Type
was not being saved if the user typed the selection instead of
clicked on the selection.
7.
Changed View Loans window behavior when the form is maximized to
expand the work events grid rather than the customer grid.
8.
Fixed a problem where deleting a work event and then adding another
one right away gave an error message and presented an improper
form.
9. Fixed a problem with reversing transactions when the customer
record came from another store number.
10. Fixed an error message
during EOD processing under certain situations.
11. Changed the way system handles logging in a non-existing
store number during remote connections. Now the system will notify
the
user of the error and revert to the first store number setup in
the system.
12. Added support to change store number option for
work log and default security file changes. Enhanced error reporting
in change
store number.
13. Added ability in profile settings for a loan fee
method which deducts interest from a calculated loan fee in the
final result.
14.
Added ability in profile settings to have the pay down principal
on renewals be only a default amount that may be decreased rather
than a forced minimum amount required to pay toward principal.
15.
Changed receipt templates for paydowns that are actively accruing
interest. Now a balance is shown only when printed on the same
day as the transaction, and the accruing daily interest amount
also is indicated.
16. Enhanced the warning message when MaxFees
percent is exceeded to give more information. Also enabled warning
to show on the paydown
screen in addition to the renewal and satisfied screens.
17. Fixed
problem where date column was not showing on File / System Options
/ Repair Options / Delete Operating Summary.
18.
Fixed problem where create default security file was giving an
error message when the file did not exist.
19. Fixed problem
with remote connections where in certain situations the remote
server was being saved as the default server configuration.
20.
Added ability for Renewals to set a default loan fee based upon
the percentage of loan fee to principal remaining. See profile
setting for Profile ID #136.
21. Updated help file.
Cash Advance Pro 5.0 --- 7-25-08
Version 5.0 is a major upgrade over the 4.x versions of Cash Advance
Pro. The database server software has been changed to NexusDB and
the Report Builder components have been upgraded significantly.
This update is actually more like a conversion and requires scheduling
with our office to ensure a smooth transition to the new software.
Users need to have updated their Cash Advance Pro system to version
4.92 prior to updating to version 5.0. If the end user has any
customized forms and reports, these will require special attention
to convert them over for use by version 5.0. Some of the new features
in version 5.0 are as follows:
1. Support for signature capture of customers has been added.
2.
Support for saving photographs of customers and security items
has been added.
3. Improved speed and performance with the database.
4. Numerous
improvements to Report Builder.
5. Improved support
for Windows Vista. Forms will be less likely to hide behind other
forms in this version.
6. Added ability to
refinance installment loans.
7. Added ability
for product registration via the internet.
8.
Updated help file.
